HOW TO BECOME UI / UX DESIGNER

Before getting into the subject matter, we must first know what is meant by ui and ux designer, now what is meant by ui designer is to create an interface that is easy to use and pleases the user, design refers to a graphical user interface and other forms such as a voice-controlled interface. .

Well, if the ux designer determines how an application and / or site can operate easily. But in working, both must be based on research results so that the application and / or site that is designed is truly effective.

You already understand, then we will discuss the skills needed for an ui designer and an ux designer, there are some skills that an ui / ux designer must have, let’s discuss it from the UI designer first.

The abilities a designer ui must have are:

1. Research

UI / UX Designer must have the ability to do research. UI / UX Designer must understand client data, be it income, jobs, goals, users, competitors. They also have to perform user testing and perform various data collection methods to obtain information about their users.

2. Analysis

In addition to the ability to conduct research, they must also have the ability to analyze the results of research, the user profile or the user. This analytical ability is important because the UI / UX Designer must be able to draw information from several studies carried out into one complete conclusion.

3. Visualization

Able to visualize the analysis results obtained from the results of research carried out into a user flow for tested product designs and with beautiful visuals. Arrange the layout of the existing page views on the application or website. This includes determining colors, typography, images, and other design elements so that they become the final design that is ready to be developed into an application or website.

4. Design

Able to design the interaction of each element on the page so that it makes it easier for users to access it. Displays an interface with good uniformity in terms of colors, fonts, images, animation, and more. Then create an application or web using a wireframe, a prototype before testing it on the user.

5. Iteration

Iterating on the website or application design that was created by utilizing input from the user. By conducting research related to user expectations of the website or application that we make, then maximizing the user experience both related to interface design and the user experience when using the website or application that we make.

1. Visual communication

If you want a career as a UX Designer, you must have good visual communication skills. Where you make connections via images. This is very important because humans are visual creatures. That way, you will be able to create interactive presentations, icons, prototypes with ease.

2. Wireframing and Prototyping Capabilities

This capability is essential in any design process. Through this hard skill, UX Designer can easily communicate with his team, including the developer, shareholder, and user sector. UX Designer can try a product (trial) with this capability before launching it.

3. Information Architecture

Information Architecture involves organizing information in an understandable way. UX Designer is good at having this ability to prioritize and organize complex sets of information. The reason is, in making digital products, UX Designer will be faced with a lot of information from various perspectives such as project management, and product design perspectives.

4. Interaction design

UX Designer must be able to make a fun design so that users can easily interact with the product. Therefore, design skills, especially digitally, are needed in this profession.

5. Able to understand the needs of the user or user empathy

As a product designer, the UX Designer must be able to view the product from the user’s point of view. This can provide advice for making the right business decisions.

What is the task of the UI / UX designer :

1. Collecting client data, starting from the budget, what business is being undertaken, what purpose, who are the users, who are the competitors.
2. Conduct research, surveys, analysis, user testing and various other data collection methods to obtain information about users.
3. Analyze application and / or site user profiles.
4. Visualize user flow into tested and beautiful product designs.
5. Lay out existing pages on the app and / or site.
6. Designing the interaction of each element on the page to make it easier for users (user friendly).
